The biggest confusion among students is what is DU correspondence or SOL. DU offers almost all its regular courses under correspondence also. The difference is under SOL you will not have regular classes as it will be only on Sunday. Also you does not belong to particular college. And the main difference is the conduct of exam as under SOL exams are conducted once in a year while under regular college exams are conducted twice a year.

The other thing is that you does not need higher Marks in 12th as you needed for regular college. Also you can easily carry on other things like coaching for any entrance exam like UPSC and CAT. Also the degree you receive is same as compared to regular college.

The other side is that you can't get exposure in SOL as  you get in regular college. This exposure worths a lot in your carrier. As you interact a lot of people which improves your communication skills and also your public speaking skills are improved.

From my view if you are getting admission in any regular college go for it. As it improves you and your skills.

But if you are not getting admission in any DU college don't worry if you want go for SOL and take coaching for some competitive exam.
